AA plans installing airstrike early-warning system in captured townships

The Arakan Army (AA) has planned to install an early-warning system for airstrikes to address the military junta’s attacks on the townships and regions, which came under the AA’s control.

Answering questions from the reporters in a press meet, AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha s livelihood, and poke about the AA’s efforts to safeguard the health, security and livelihood of local people in the captured localities.

“In Paletwa township, the airstrikes are being conducted by the soldiers on various villages where internally displaced persons live. Recently, airstrikes were carried out on Min Hpu hospital and Thay Kan village.

These attacks usually took place in the night hours, when the residents go to bed. To address this threat, the AA is actively planning to install an early-warning system for airstrikes, explained U Khaing Thukha.

He also expressed concern that the junta forces may carry out airstrikes even though they are prevented from entering the townships which came under the control of AA.

“The soldiers have the capability to carry out airstrikes. So they are targeting the civilian population,” he explained.

Regarding the public healthcare facility in those townships and regions, the AA official mentioned that their medical team was providing the best possible treatment to the people along with the necessary medicines. They are also working for increasing awareness among the villagers about the landmines and their safety.
